About the Program

The Master's program in Psychology with a focus on Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy is a consecutive study program. In addition to the general study objectives according to § 1 Para. 1 of the Examination Regulations (PO), the study of Psychology with a focus on Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy conveys the generally recognized state of knowledge, competencies, and skills in accordance with § 7 Para. 1 of the Psychotherapy Act (PsychThG). This includes psychotherapeutic, psychological, pedagogical, medical, and other reference scientific knowledge, as well as the fundamental personal, methodological, social, and implementation-oriented competencies required for independent and comprehensive psychotherapeutic care of patients of all age groups, considering the needs of people with disabilities, using scientifically recognized psychotherapeutic procedures and methods. The program enables students to participate in the further development of psychotherapeutic procedures or methods and to develop organizational and leadership competencies based on knowledge of psychotherapeutic care systems. Upon completion of the Master of Science in Psychology with a focus on Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, the requirements for the approbation examination as a psychotherapist are fulfilled.

The Master's program in Psychology with a focus on Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy is a consecutive study program.
