Protestant Theology Bachelor of ArtsProtestant Theology

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

About the Program

Protestant Theology analyzes the statements of the Christian faith with the aim of contributing to the clarification of current questions. It deals with biblical writings and the Christian tradition as a whole, its history, and the development of Christian faith for the present in theory and practice. The program offers a comprehensive insight: from biblical archaeology, which includes the archaeological exploration of texts, to church fields of action, in which the current conditions of church action are reflected considering the methods of non-theological sciences (sociology, psychology, pedagogy, rhetoric). Students also look beyond Christianity to non-Christian religions. In the study program, students learn to be articulate in questions of Christian faith and Christian theology, to critically handle different sources - whether biblical, archaeological, or church-historical, and to take a responsible and competent position from a theological perspective on controversial topics of the present.
