About the Program

The Bachelor's degree programme in Protestant Theology offers the opportunity to explore Christianity from an academic perspective – from its biblical roots to its role in the church, culture and society today. Students are introduced to the central theological disciplines and learn to: interpret biblical texts in a philologically sound and reflective manner; understand the history of Christianity and its religious practices; question theological concepts and understand dogmatic connections; analyse ethical issues and social developments from a theological perspective. Through intensive engagement with historical traditions and current challenges, students develop the ability to independently assess theological issues – an essential skill for a wide range of professional fields and further studies.
