About the Program

In the Production Engineering master's program you will gain an all-round technical-engineering knowledge while specializing in production engineering. The research and teaching program centers on the technology and management of factory operations. The areas you will be examining include the development of process technologies and production plants and their organization in terms of information technology as well as all aspects of factory planning. One of the aims of the program is to present and link product development, production planning, and production in terms of information technology so as to permit the continuous simulation, verification and optimization of the entire product life cycle. The scope of research topics is very broad: This covers fields such as sustainable corporate development, tribology, and joining technology, as well as machine tools and manufacturing engineering, installation engineering and handling technique, industrial automation engineering, industrial information technology, quality science, coating technology, and micro and precision instruments. You can choose to focus on one of the following three areas of specialization: production technology, automation engineering and information technology, or production management.
