About the Program

This Master's degree course focuses on digitalisation and Industry 4.0 in the various phases of the processing-plant life cycle. Automation, digital plant design, data handling, computational simulation techniques, and process and plant safety are key topics. The program prepares students for work in R&D, plant planning and design, plant operation, maintenance, service, and project management in both industry and academic research. The course is studied full-time over three semesters (90 credit points). The first two semesters (60 CPs) include modules on numerical mathematics, digital plant design, advanced instrumentation and automation, process optimisation and simulation, advanced thermodynamics and separation processes, advanced solids processing, chemical reaction engineering, plant engineering, process and plant safety, multiphysics simulation, materials and corrosion, environmental technologies, bioenergy, plant operation, project and asset management, and project financing. The third semester (30 CPs) is a research semester for completing the Master thesis.
