About the Program

Political Science deals with power and authority relationships and the institutions that regulate them. Political Science is also a science of democracy and therefore combines analytical and normative perspectives. The overarching goal of the Bachelor's program is to equip students with a range of both subject-specific and generalizable competencies, qualifying them for various and changing professional fields in a rapidly moving society. The study program provides students with fundamental and in-depth knowledge of the four sub-disciplines of Political Science: Political Theory and History of Ideas, Government Studies and Policy Research, System Analysis and Comparative Political Science, International Relations and European Politics, supplemented by basic knowledge of methodology. In addition, skills in the preparation and communication of knowledge are trained, and the students' scientific processing and discourse abilities are established or improved through foreign language teaching components.
