About the Program

In this political sciences teaching qualification (B.A) study program, you will acquire basic knowledge and skills in the subject science and how to teach it. Political sciences being housed in the Institute for Social Sciences assures that the orientation is one of analytical theoretical approaches and empirical research methods. The study program is organized in four key political science sub-areas: "political system of the Federal Republic of Germany," "analysis and comparison of political systems," "political theory" and "international relations." These are complemented by a socioscientific basic module, and a module from political science's relevant neighboring disciplines: political economy, public law, and sociology. In the subject pedagogical module you will acquire knowledge of selected approaches and methods for teaching political science that you will deepen with practical exercises.
