Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

About the Program

The bachelor's degree programme in Plant Biotechnology (B.Sc.) offers intensified training in molecular and applied plant science. Students learn both molecular biological/biochemical content and, to a lesser extent, application-related aspects, e.g. with regard to plant breeding, plant nutrition and plant cultivation. In addition, students gain a broad basic education in science: chemistry, physics, mathematics, biostatistics and biology. In the fifth and sixth semesters, students have the opportunity to specialise as they see fit by choosing compulsory elective modules. The aim of the degree programme is to provide students with a basic education in science and biology, focusing on molecular biology and biochemistry. Besides providing students with a broad scientific foundation, the programme is also a good starting point for differentiated life science research in university or non-university areas.
