About the Program

The Bachelor's program in Physics Engineering aims to provide students with advanced professional knowledge, skills and competencies required for scientific work and scientifically oriented professional activities in the field of physics engineering, enabling them to critically evaluate new scientific findings and apply them in professional practice. Graduates have solid knowledge of classical physics (mechanics, electrodynamics, thermodynamics, oscillations, waves and optics) and are familiar with the fundamentals of quantum, atomic and solid-state physics. They know important mathematical methods used in physics and can apply them to solve physical problems. They have largely understood the basic principles of physics, their internal connections and mathematical formulation, and can acquire methods for theoretical analysis, modeling and simulation of relevant processes. Students apply their knowledge to physical tasks and develop problem-solving competence. They are able to independently classify physical and partially interdisciplinary problems requiring goal-oriented and logically sound approaches, and to analyze or solve them using scientific and mathematical methods. They are familiar with the basic principles of experimentation, can use modern physical measurement methods, and are able to correctly assess the significance of results. They have also acquired knowledge in selected other scientific and technical disciplines (chemistry, electrical engineering/electronics, computer science).
