About the Program

The teaching degree program in Physics including Astronomy provides a balanced education in conceptual and methodological foundations of physics. Students develop competencies in Experimental Physics, Theoretical Physics, Astronomy, and Physics Teaching Methodology. The subject study covers mechanics, electrodynamics, thermodynamics, quantum physics, relativity theory, astronomy, and other specialized application areas. Most courses are offered separately from the Bachelor's program in Physics to particularly address the professional field. The subject study comprises 102 credit points. In the didactic training (15 credit points), students are enabled to prepare physical facts for teaching in the classroom, apply physics-specific teaching methods, and select appropriate media.
