About the Program

The subject Physics is concerned with the observation and understanding of all basic phenomena in the categories of matter and energy. It forms the basis of all other natural sciences up to life sciences and medicine, as well as engineering and technology. The six-semester program provides broad basic training in experimental Physics, Theoretical Physics and Mathematics, followed by specialization in one of three main aspects: Applied, Experimental and Theoretical Solid State Physics; Experimental and Theoretical Hadron, Nuclear and Particle Physics; or Experimental Atomic and Molecular physics. Students also select electives from Chemistry, Informatics, Numerical Mathematics, Economics, Business Administration, or languages.
