About the Program
Students are trained in orthopaedic technology, to enable them to take a science-based approach to developing and delivering care programs. The programme prepares students to provide independent patient care relating to prostheses and orthoses and offers the opportunity to gain a professional licence in this field. Students learn about practical work with patients from the very first semester, whilst also gaining an academic and solution-orientated grounding. They learn to evaluate how the latest research and development applies to their future professional practice and qualify as sought-after specialists in medical technology. The study programme is unique at both national and international level. Teaching takes place primarily in the specialist orthopaedic technology training workshop at the University Medical Center Göttingen, offering direct contact with patients and experience of clinical technical orthopaedics.
