About the Program

The Nutritional, Food and Consumer Sciences program focuses on the interface between various specialist fields, providing knowledge in nutrition, health, food, and society. Students acquire expertise in natural sciences, social sciences, and business sciences relating to nutrition, food, health, quality management, supply, and sustainability. The program has an interdisciplinary structure with project-based learning. In the first semesters, students learn the basics of natural sciences, social sciences, and business sciences, consolidating theoretical knowledge with integrated project work. A work placement semester outside the university is included in the fifth semester. In the fourth semester, students choose a specialization from: Nutrition and Health, Food industry and food quality, Sustainability and quality management, or Education, politics, society. Graduates work at the interface between research, business, and consumers in fields such as quality management, nutritional counseling, health promotion, product development, home economics management, marketing, or research.
