About the Program

The integrated Master/PhD program in Neurosciences is a joint venture of the University of Göttingen, the University Medical Center, the German Primate Center and the Max Planck Institutes. It offers research-oriented training across a broad spectrum of disciplines in the neurosciences with access to state-of-the art laboratories. After one year of intensive training, students can continue with a six-month thesis to obtain a Master of Science (MSc) degree, or join the PhD part directly (fast-track option). The program offers excellent study and research conditions to prepare aspiring young scientists for a professional career in academia or science-related professions. Students acquire in-depth knowledge in subject areas including Neurobiology, Physiology, Neurogenetics, Neuropharmacology, Neuroendocrinology, Neuronal Development, Neuroanatomy, sensory, motor und clinical Neurosciences, Higher Brain Functions, Computational Neurosciences, Molecular Biology, and Statistics. The MSc/PhD Program Neurosciences is conducted jointly by the University of Göttingen including the University Medical Center, the MPIs for Multidisciplinary Sciences and for Dynamics and Self-Organization, the European Neuroscience Institute, and the German Primate Center.
