About the Program

The Sustainable Energy Systems program aims to provide future engineers with the fundamentals of energy technology focusing on sustainable energy systems and digitalization methods. Students learn about integrating energy technology into energy systems of different sizes - from process engineering plants to building energy systems to national energy systems. The program provides excellent knowledge in engineering fundamentals. Through elective focus subjects, students acquire specialized engineering knowledge. They learn comprehensive and application-ready knowledge in basic engineering subjects (including mathematics, physics, chemistry, electrical engineering, CAD) and in core energy technology subjects (especially thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, electrical engineering, chemistry, heat and mass transfer, materials science, measurement and control technology, power electronics). In the application-oriented specializations, knowledge is imparted in 'Renewable Energy Technology', 'Building Technology' and 'Renewable Energy & Smart Grids'.
