About the Program

In the Music-Based Autism Diagnostics course, you will gain deeper insight into the characteristics of people with intellectual development disorders and autism. You will learn about the relevant diagnostic criteria and possibilities, and as a music therapist, you can expand your range of activities through substantial contributions to team-based diagnostics. As a psychologist or educator, you will have the unique opportunity to gain diagnostic information through elementary musical contact. The special feature of Music-Based Autism Diagnostics (MUSAD) is using musical interaction to examine people with limited language and suspected autism who are hardly able to provide self-disclosure. This approach has been extensively tested and allows for the observation and systematic recording of essential diagnostic features in a playful setting.
