About the Program

The aim of the sub-degree course in music for the teaching profession is the professional training of music teachers. It is based on an open concept of music that takes into account the diversity of musical phenomena (art music of the past and present, popular music, music of other cultures) as well as the heterogeneous social practice of music. The module examination regulations are based on a competence profile that interlinks academic and artistic perspectives to enable students to teach music in a target group-oriented and appropriate manner. The subject of music can be studied in the teacher training courses L1 to L3 and L5 (Primary School, Hauptschule and Realschule, Gymnasium, and Special Education with a Focus on Inclusion).
