The degree programme in Molecular Biotechnology offers students a modern, interdisciplinary education in which the primary areas of focus are substance research, bioinformatics, and biophysical chemistry. The Bachelor's degree programme provides a broad education in the natural sciences and teaches the fundamentals of subjects ranging from biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics to molecular and cell biology, pharmacology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, and process technology. In the third semester, students select one of the following specialisations: bioinformatics, biophysical chemistry, or substance research. Students gain knowledge of the latest developments in biomedical research, including findings from genome and proteome research, gene technology, bioinformatics, substance development, diagnostics, and biomedicine.
