About the Program

The Master's degree in Molecular Biomedicine combines the molecular life sciences with medicine by examining the molecular and cellular aspects of biology with special consideration of medical issues and problems. The program aims to convey a strong interdisciplinary approach and overcome subject boundaries between scientific and medical thinking through research-oriented project work. The 4-semester program requires 90 CP over three semesters (60 CP compulsory elective modules + 30 CP optional modules) with the 4th semester devoted to the Master's thesis (30 CP). Modules are divided into categories: Background Modules (min 24 CP), Clinical Modules (min 12 CP), Research Modules (min 15 CP), and Skills Modules (min 9 CP). The program offers broad education in molecular life sciences and methods with possibilities to specialize in basic cellular and molecular biology, various diseases including degenerative diseases, and genetic-diagnostic treatments. Specialization areas include biochemistry, genetics, molecular and cell biology, and electrophysiology. All modules are offered in English.
