About the Program

In this minor subject, you will acquire the ability to explain and discuss key structures and processes of modern history. Studying various kinds of primary source (textual sources, oral sources, picture sources, digital sources) will also give you the ability to critically examine sources and to develop a differentiated view point. You will develop a historical awareness and will be able to put current problems into a historical context in an interdisciplinary way. Due to the complexity of historical work, you will acquire skills that can also be used away from the course. After completion, career options include the museum and exhibition sector with a focus on the modern era, education sector, media, public relations, publishing, library sector, archiving, public administration, and more.
