About the Program

The interdisciplinary Master's program "Medieval and early modern studies" is supported by more than 10 departments and institutes, spanning 5 university faculties. It is designed for students from Germany and abroad whose previous academic work has included an emphasis on medieval studies. Through specialization in a particular area, students of this program will deepen their knowledge of their chosen field. At the same time, through participation in relevant courses in neighbouring fields and interdisciplinary training in medieval studies methods, they will acquire a methodologically and theoretically broad scientific view of the Middle Ages and Renaissance. The program is organized into three sections: the curriculum individuale, curriculum commune and curriculum particulare.
