About the Program

In a cooperation unique in Lower Saxony, Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences and Osnabrück University jointly offer a Bachelor's and Master's degree course in Vocational Education for Metals Engineering. The program is organized in stages, beginning with a six-semester Bachelor's degree in Vocational Education where students learn the mathematical, scientific, and technical fundamentals of Metals Engineering. This is followed by a four-semester Master's degree in Vocational Education. Students are required to combine the vocational specialization (Metals Engineering) with a general education subject. The Master of Education degree qualifies graduates to enter the period of school-based training called the Referendariat and subsequently for a career as a school teacher.
