About the Program

The Master's degree program in Media and Public Engagement at the University of Bremen prepares students for media-related professions with a view to positive social change. Graduates should be able to develop communication strategies with regard to current social challenges and to communicate in a changing media environment. The degree program places particular emphasis on the scientifically sound teaching of theoretical and methodological skills in the field of sustainable social engagement. The course also offers the opportunity to gain a foothold in the professional field through internships. Students can deepen their individual interests and specializations in the supplementary area of the course. The Master's degree program comprises a total of 11 modules across four areas: communication and media studies Core Area, interdisciplinary Supplementary Area, optional Practical Area, and an overarching Integration Area including the MA Thesis.
