Automotive industry, energy engineering, manufacturing engineering, power plant construction, medical engineering, food industry, environmental engineering, packaging machines - mechanical engineering is used across all sectors of industry. Mechanical and plant engineering is the largest industrial sector in Germany and covers a wide range of areas: from machines in the narrow sense, manufacturing and automation engineering, vehicles of all types, plants of the most differing sizes in the fields of energy and medical engineering and more besides. Graduates of the master's programme find responsible positions in the areas of research, development, construction and in production management and quality assurance. The master's degree programme allows students to pursue their preferences and move towards their individual career goal by broadening fundamentals on a higher level, selecting challenging focal areas (2 out of 5), enhancing their personal profile by taking elective modules, solving a practically-related task in the form of a master's thesis. Students learn to use problem solving techniques, methods of calculation and simulation and visualisation procedures at an advanced level.
