About the Program

The Bachelor's degree program in mechanical engineering is strongly research-oriented. Numerous research activities and various courses together with partners from industry ensure a practical education around product development and manufacturing. The program uses a variety of practical learning methods, such as laboratories, internships, project work, business games and excursions. In addition to technical knowledge, competencies such as the ability to work in a team, independent and scientific work, and critical thinking are also taught. The foundation of the engineering education is first laid by an intensive study of required basic subjects like mathematics, physics, chemistry, measurement technology, computer science, electrical engineering or mechanics. From the fifth semester onwards, students choose one of seven offered profile modules to specify their studies.
