About the Program

This master's programme in mathematics offers a variety of opportunities for students to enhance and expand their knowledge in the main mathematical disciplines, not to mention their mutual relationships and applications. Students choose a specialisation and a suitable elective subject area. The core areas are pure mathematics (analysis or algebra/discrete mathematics) or mathematical applications (applied mathematics, stochastic, biomathematics). Students study courses totalling 66 ECTS credits, with one area chosen as a specialisation. In addition, there is the minor subject and general career preparation courses (professionalisation area) with a total of 24 ECTS credits. Possible minor subjects include biology, chemistry, computer science, philosophy, physics, environmental sciences and economics. The final Master's thesis (30 ECTS credits) documents the ability to study current research literature and to scientifically analyse and present mathematical problems. Working independently and connecting current research areas are important parts of this programme.
