About the Program

Mathematics is more than a foundational science - it is a key technology that helps solve problems in all areas of life. The simulation of real processes on computers is of central importance in many areas today, and mathematics provides the concepts and methods on which modern AI systems, encryption methods, or tools such as route planners and search engines are based. In this Bachelor's program in Mathematics, you will receive a broad education in pure and applied mathematics and learn how to convert complex problems into mathematical formulas ('mathematical modeling'). In programming internships, you develop and implement algorithms used in many applications, from data analysis to engineering. You will also find an introduction to a non-mathematical application subject. In the third year, you deepen your (theoretical and practical) knowledge in a sub-area of mathematics that you can choose from the offered specializations: Algebra, Geometry and Computer Algebra (including Cryptography); Analysis and Stochastics; Technomathematics (Modeling and Scientific Computing); Business Mathematics (Optimization and Stochastics). This versatile education prepares you for numerous career opportunities as well as for an exciting Master's program.
