About the Program

The "Materials and Sustainability" course provides a basic introduction to the topic of sustainability, particularly in areas where issues related to materials arise, be it in relation to manufacture, use or disposal. The course comprehensively covers various aspects of important materials, from their chemical and physical properties to their entrenchment in our society and impact on the environment. Particular attention is paid to how the choice of materials and sustainability considerations can influence design decisions. In addition to imparting knowledge, the students have the opportunity to deal with the topics independently in exercises during the course. There is an option to hold the course in English if required.
