About the Program

The Master of Public Management is a part-time advanced study program aimed at employees in civil service or employment relationships who aspire to a career change to higher service in public administration (applies to civil servants) or a comparable higher (leadership) position in an employment relationship. The study is conducted as a combination of distance learning and on-campus study. Classes take place on a fixed day of the week, either in-person or online. Many students are released from their duties by their employer for the courses and have direct contact with fellow students and teachers. The program has been offered by the University of Public Management and Security since 2005, initially in cooperation with the University of Kassel and then as the sole provider.
