A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering enables entry into one of the most interesting, diverse, and future-oriented professions for students interested in technology - the profession of engineer. Whether it's delivery by drones, industrial robots with artificial intelligence, or autonomous driving - engineers contribute significantly to the technological change in society through creativity, inventiveness, and developing solutions, making them among the best-paid professions. The continuous digitization of mechanical engineering within Industry 4.0 has a major influence on the products themselves and their processes for development, manufacturing, and operation. The increasingly close interaction between mechanical engineering and computer science opens up new business fields, for example through the efficient analysis of huge amounts of data (Big Data) collected during production and operation. The BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg has already addressed these industry requirements and aligned the curricula for the future. Additionally, they offer the possibility to complete a dual study program (7 semesters) in Mechanical Engineering. The program includes a solid foundation in engineering and mathematical subjects as well as electrical engineering and computer science in the first four semesters, followed by elective specializations. The university has introduced an individual mentoring system that supports and advises on specialization choices. A high practical component ensures continuous application of the taught material and contributes to the success of the studies.
