About the Program

Access to various media, information and data are central to information equality and participation in a democratic society, as well as to an open, networked and lively learning and research culture. The Bachelor's degree course in Library and Information Management produces specialists who create information systems and architectures for academia, business and society and who promote participation and inclusion based on the maxim of lifelong learning. The program focuses on three areas of specialization: Participation in the Information Society, Digital and Open Academia, and Search and User Experience. The degree course consists of mandatory foundational courses and required electives in the specializations. It includes a university-organised internship in the third semester and an independent project in the fourth semester. The fifth and sixth semesters focus on deepening specialization-specific knowledge and skills, concluding with a Bachelor's thesis.
