About the Program

This is a modularized diploma program in Church Music (A). It is a four-semester advanced study program designed for graduates with a B-Church Music diploma or bachelor's degree. The program aims to enable students to independently perform church music services in prominent positions, develop outstanding artistic skills as conductors/choir directors and organists, and gain pedagogical competence for training part-time church musicians and volunteers. Graduates also gain competence in professional supervision tasks. The program follows the framework regulations of the Conference of Leaders of Church and State Training Institutions for Church Music and Regional Church Music Directors in the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD). One-tenth of the study requirements can be fulfilled through a wide range of elective courses, allowing for individual specialization according to personal interests. The diploma qualifies graduates to apply for any A-Church Music position.
