About the Program

The Bachelor's program in Childhood Education qualifies students for professional work in the field of education, care, and upbringing of children aged 0 to 12 years. The program has a scientific and application-oriented approach. The study includes theoretical and empirical foundations against the background of current problems and issues in the field of childhood education. It follows a transdisciplinary idea and enables diverse competence acquisition in the horizon of current research. A particularly intensive interlinking with non-university learning locations also enables practice-oriented learning. The program consists of 15 modules and is oriented towards the Core Curriculum Childhood Education. Within domain-specific education, individual specializations are possible through elective modules: from the third semester onwards, two focus areas within the so-called educational areas - aesthetic experience in childhood, movement, mathematics, nature, language - are studied.
