About the Program

The Master's program in International Business and Global Transformation prepares you for the various challenges that await you in a complex, globally competitive business environment. The program is designed to enhance your business expertise but also your methodical, social, language and intercultural skills through a mandatory semester abroad and an application-oriented approach to teaching. All classes are taught in English. You will learn to use targeted analyses to develop and implement solutions for complex problems facing internationally operating companies and organizations. You will obtain an extensive overview of all aspects of international business as well as in-depth knowledge and understanding of all related management areas. The program aims at laying the foundation for graduates to pursue an internationally oriented career. During the semester abroad, students have the opportunity to specialize in aspects of international business they are most interested in. Graduates are well-prepared for top-level positions in the field of international business and are also qualified to undertake doctoral research. The program focuses on functional strategic competence, tools and methods competence, as well as decision-making frameworks. Specialization options during the semester abroad include: Accounting, business ethics, economic geography, emerging markets, finance, human resource management, international politics, local/regional business culture or regional studies. The program offers a Double Degree option with Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (CUAS) in Austria. Students who successfully complete the double degree program receive both a German master's degree from TH Köln and an Austrian master's degree from CUAS after four semesters. THK students spend their third semester in Carinthia, while CUAS students spend their second semester in Cologne.
