Information and Communication Technology

Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.)

About the Program

This cooperative/dual Bachelor's program fundamentally prepares you for the application of information and communication technology to support various industries through digitalization. You will learn how techniques and systems for processing and transmitting information work, the physical principles behind them, and how these can be reliably applied for even higher transmission rates. We develop your skills in analyzing and programming these systems, including linking your knowledge with the concepts and principles of computer science. You use these skills in image and signal processing up to controlling complex networks such as the Internet or existing mobile communication systems. The practical integration particularly enables you to deepen what you have learned in a ready-to-use manner and to successfully master development projects with interdisciplinary communication and cooperation. The program lasts seven semesters and is divided into two parts that are completed in a temporally and content-wise interlinked manner: study at HTWK Leipzig and practical work at the location of the practical placement.
