IndustriepharmazieIndustrial Pharmacy

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

About the Program

Pharmazie is the science of pharmaceuticals. It deals with the quality and effect of medicines as well as their development, production, testing and distribution. Pharmazie is thus an interdisciplinary science that combines natural sciences, medical, technical and economic subjects. In the part-time degree program "Industriepharmazie" (Industrial Pharmacy), this broad spectrum is complemented by a consistent practical orientation. The program offers a unique combination of scientific foundations and medical-pharmaceutical-technological expertise. The nine-semester program concludes with a "Bachelor of Science" degree and is conducted at the Pirmasens location. However, training to become a licensed pharmacist is not part of this program. The educational content is specifically tailored to the industrial requirements of modern pharmaceutical companies, including both classical pharmaceutical subjects and modern educational focuses such as pharmaceutical biotechnology, biological medicines (so-called biologicals), bioanalytics, quality management, and process engineering.
