About the Program

Stacking chairs, construction machinery or digital systems – industrial designers work in a diverse range of fields. They develop, plan and design products, systems and services, as well as their interfaces, so that they meet the aesthetic, social, cultural and ergonomic requirements of users. In doing so, they share responsibility for sustainable and resource-efficient product development. At the renowned Faculty of Design, students can acquire the necessary skills in the Industrial Design programme, which leads to a diploma (FH). Here, they develop their artistic talent and supplement it with conceptual, constructive and theoretical knowledge. They become familiar with analogue two- and three-dimensional representation techniques (such as drawing and 3D model making) and learn how to use CAD, rapid prototyping, visualisation and animation programmes. Techniques such as AR/VR/MR and motion tracking are learned and researched in the Human Factor Lab. The programme is characterised by its diverse content and individual freedom. Based on a broad-based foundation, students are prepared for different fields of practice according to their own inclinations and abilities.
