About the Program

The Master's program in Horn focuses on deepening the main subject and developing a personal profile. The goal of the consecutive Master of Music program with a focus on string instruments, wind instruments, and harp is to enable students, through specialized and in-depth professional and general musical as well as musicological education, to interpret musical works with individual interpretation and at a very high artistic and instrumental level as soloists and chamber musicians. The program includes intensive training in the main subject, orchestral projects, and the option to learn natural horn techniques. Students also develop individual competencies through elective courses in musicology, music theory, and music education. As part of Department C (Wind, Percussion, Conducting, Correpetition), the Horn program includes private lessons in the core subject and correpetition, subjects in methodology, music theory, ear training, and musicology. Students gain practice-oriented experience through numerous projects in chamber music, school orchestra, Echo Ensemble, and the 'Eisler Winds' series. The training is complemented by piano lessons, participation in the school choir, theory of physiological and psychological aspects of musicianship and practice, and key competencies in related fields (legal studies, self-management, promotion). During the course, focus may be placed on chamber music, orchestra or education.
