About the Program

The History of International Relations master's program is a research-oriented, four-semester program. It examines international politics from a historical science perspective and explores actors, interactions and ideas and implementations of international systems. With respect to period, it deals with modern history, from approx. 1500 to the present. The program conveys approaches, theories and methods of historical science and related disciplines, which appertain to the historical analysis of international politics. In addition to empirical content – the history of international politics – theoretical-methodological training forms a core focus of the program. The academic title of Master of Arts (M.A.) in Humanities and Social Sciences is awarded upon completion.
