About the Program

The Master's degree program in history gives you the skills you need to develop research questions independently and to find answers to these questions through systematic analysis. As well as acquiring special skills in history, this program will also allow you to efficiently acquire new areas of knowledge and present them professionally. In this degree program, you will acquire advanced knowledge of the history of various periods and regions, based on discussions of the latest research findings and detailed work with sources. You will also carry out independent research. You can choose which specific areas you wish to study, as you have the opportunity to select period-specific specializations from the following areas: Ancient history, Medieval History, History of the Early Modern Period, Contemporary history, Eastern European history, Bavarian and Franconian regional history.
