About the Program

The study of history focuses on human action, behaviour and thought under changing natural, social and temporal conditions. It includes topics that are the subject of other disciplines, such as political processes and theories, social structures, economic processes and legal relationships. The first part of the degree programme focuses on basic knowledge of general history, insights into the various eras (Ancient, Medieval, Modern History and 20th century history) and the academic approach to the past. After the school placement semester, students acquire in-depth knowledge of all epochs through the application of academic methodology, while having the opportunity to focus on specific epochs and regions. The program follows the Jena model, which includes a five-month school placement semester in the fifth or sixth semester.
