About the Program

The consecutive Master's program Higher Education is aimed at university teachers who already have a first degree (equivalent to at least 240 ECTS) and would like to further qualify in questions of university didactics at university level. The Higher Education (M.A.) program provides research-oriented advanced knowledge, skills, and methods of university didactics for fields of work in university teaching, in scientific continuing education, and in educational and training institutions that pursue scientific educational goals. In addition to general didactic theories and findings, those of teaching-learning research, science research, higher education research, and media education research are also part of the program, as well as comprehensive scientific project studies. The target group is primarily teaching scientists, but also people who are or will be active in the planning, organization, development, evaluation, or reform of university teaching and want to deal with university teaching at an academic level.
