Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

About the Program

The dual Bachelor's program in Midwifery Science prepares students for the versatile and responsible work of midwives. Midwives care for women and their families from the beginning of pregnancy until the end of breastfeeding. They accompany and support women during this special phase of life, independently lead physiological births, and are responsible for the examination and care of newborns and infants. The theoretical study phases at the university are complemented by practical learning units in modern skills and simulation rooms, where practical skills are practiced with simulation dolls and models. The practical study phases take place with clinical and non-clinical cooperation partners, including delivery rooms, pregnancy outpatient clinics, maternity wards, children's clinics, birth centers, and midwifery practices. Students are accompanied by practical instructors during their assignments. The program concludes with the academic degree Bachelor of Science and a state license as a midwife.
