About the Program

The study of the combination of German and Mathematics takes into account the requirements arising from the implementation of the inclusion concept in primary schools. The study of this subject combination aims to expand the knowledge acquired in the special education disciplines, but also to specify it. The special education profession includes teamwork skills, creativity and flexibility, as well as the responsibility to deal with freedom of design - theoretically justified and guided by appropriate attitudes towards other people and oneself. The demands of the different living environments of students require versatility in the competence profile of the educator and the endurance and reflection of contradictions and uncertainties. In addition to acquiring subject-related knowledge, it is a content-related objective to recognize, through the study of the subject combination of German and Mathematics, their interaction in children's education in the areas of cognition, analytical and problem-solving skills, divergent and creative thinking, category and concept formation, as well as communication and argumentation skills.
