GetränketechnologieBeverage Technology

Master of Science (M.Sc.)

About the Program

The Master's program in Beverage Technology is offered in cooperation with Hochschule Geisenheim University. The aim is to enable students to solve beverage technology problems in industrial practice. Beverage technologists provide impulses for the development of new equipment and machines and are instrumental in planning production facilities and investments. They drive product and process development and develop methods and criteria for evaluating products and processes. Due to the sensitivity of special beverage ingredients to external influences, in-depth knowledge about the occurrence, effect, analytics, and quality control of valuable ingredients is taught alongside technical/technological requirements. Students spend one semester each at Justus-Liebig-University Giessen (JLU) and Hochschule Geisenheim University, acquiring the necessary program-specific foundational knowledge in core modules. Building on this, they can design their studies individually and flexibly through freely selectable profile modules at both locations, according to their goals and wishes.
