The Master's program in History (120 LP) provides the following competencies: Knowledge of central methodological and historical-theoretical approaches; Knowledge of important historiographical traditions; Knowledge of selected research approaches from neighboring disciplines; In-depth knowledge of subject-specific working methods; In-depth knowledge of selected topics from pre-modern and modern history; Specialized knowledge in selected research areas of pre-modern or modern history; Ability for international comparison; Ability for cross-epoch comparison of historical phenomena; Ability for source analysis and source criticism; Ability for interdisciplinarity and its practical application; Ability to independently write scientific texts of limited scope; Ability to conceptualize and present a research project; Ability to write a larger scientific work (50-80 pages) and achieve independent research results. It is a consecutive study program with a stronger research orientation.
