About the Program

The consecutive and research-oriented Master's program in History provides in-depth scientific knowledge in different epochs, regions, and sub-disciplines of the subject. The epochal (Ancient, Medieval, and Modern History) and geographical (German History, European History, Global History) breadth as well as the thematic diversity of the courses offer students the opportunity to develop specific study and research focuses. The aim of the study is, among other things, to provide insight into the basic conditions of historical change as well as epoch-, region-, and culture-specific peculiarities and characteristics. In contrast to the Bachelor's program, the focus in the Master's program in History is on independently developing and advancing current research questions.
