German Studies

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

About the Program

The world of German Studies is diverse! The study provides insights into literary studies, linguistics, and German didactics. It deals with classical works from Lessing to Fontane and also explores modern literature. The design of learning processes is just as much a part of it as the application of linguistic signs. The study thus enables a deep understanding of language and literature and promotes critical analytical skills. The Bachelor's program in German Studies aims to convey fundamental knowledge and skills regarding theories and methods of German Studies, following the idea of interdependence between the sub-disciplines of linguistics, literary studies, and German didactics. It aims to address knowledge and skills for analyzing and producing linguistic actions, for accessing fictional and factual texts, and for articulating linguistic and literary activity dispositions in teaching.
