About the Program

The Master of Education in German (M.Ed.) program allows students to deepen their knowledge and competencies in German linguistics and literary studies as well as language and literature didactics. Students learn to combine academic and didactic knowledge to design effective German language instruction, systematically preparing for their teaching internship and professional activities in schools. The program covers contemporary literature and its teaching, German literary history, multilingualism, directions and developments in German linguistics, and literary epochs. Students engage with the development of language and literature, analyze literary works in historical contexts, and learn to sensitize young people to texts and spark curiosity about literature. The program also develops competencies for teaching in linguistically heterogeneous learning groups.
