About the Program

The Master's degree program in German Language and Literature builds on the foundation of the Bachelor's degree program and allows students to gain advanced subject knowledge and specialize in one of the three focal areas of linguistics, medieval German studies or modern German literature. The degree program focuses on German language and literature in all its historical, sociocultural and regional variations as well as on the methods and theories used to analyze it from the perspectives of linguistics, literary studies and cultural sciences. Students acquire specialist methodological and communication skills that will enable them to work independently and creatively in their desired profession.
